《国际图书馆学报》征稿启事

《国际图书馆学报》(英文全称International Journal of Librarianship,英文缩写IJOL, 网站:http://journal.calaijol.org) 是一份开放获取,同行评审,定期出版的有关图书馆学和情报信息科学的英文学术期刊。本刊由美国华人图书馆员协会发起创建。美国华人图书馆员协会(英文全称Chinese American Librarians Association,英文缩写CALA)是美国图书馆协会的一个附属机构,始于1973年,会员来自美国,加拿大,新加坡,中国和全球其他国家和地区,目前活跃成员超过500人。

IJOL的建刊目标是为CALA会员和其他在北美,中国和全球其他地区的华人图书馆员提供一个发表学术见解与成果的重要渠道。IJOL发表关于图书馆,图书馆学和信息管理学等各个方面的研究与探讨。电子期刊全文可以在本刊网站获取,纸本期刊可以按需印刷邮寄。

IJOL 面向全世界华人图书馆员和图书馆工作人员,诚征有关图书馆和情报信息科学领域理论和实践的论文,会议论文,会议报道,通讯,及各类评论文章。

对图书馆和信息科学任何方面的文献综述

以上所列的仅是其中一些方面,我们接收关于图书馆和信息科学所有方面的论文。

稿件通常3000-5000字,全英文,采用APA(American Psychological Association) 格式。 如果论文质量较高,字数超出5000或者少于3000的文章也可考虑采纳接收。

投稿截止日期:

本刊一年出版两期,全年征稿,随到随审。于2016年10月15日之前提交的稿件经本刊编辑部审查后,会被考虑发表在本刊的2016十二月这期。之后提交的稿件会依次顺延到下一期。

Call for Papers: International Journal of Librarianship

The International Journal of Librarianship (IJOL) is an open access, refereed journal of research and discussion dealing with all aspects of libraries and librarianship including but not limited to major development of Chinese librarianship throughout the world. It is published by Chinese American Librarian Association (CALA), an affiliation of the American Library Association.

IJOL invites original papers or reviews of books, journal articles or conference papers that contribute to the study and research in the Library and Information Science.  All articles dealing with academic, research, public, school and special libraries and other information institutes are welcome.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • International librarianship
  • Library systems and Discovery Service
  • Digital library and institutional repository
  • Data visualization
  • Linked data and semantic web
  • Public service
  • Collection development
  • Information literacy
  • Acquisitions
  • Technical services  
  • Library consortia or vendor relations
  • Reports from the field that describe the implementation and assessment of innovative practices in libraries of all types, and report distinguished Chinese librarian who contributes greatly to the profession        
  • Review of literature in all aspects of Library and Information Science field

The topics above are some of the proposals that you would like to propose, but we accept papers on all aspects in Library and Information science.

Articles are commonly 3000-5000 words in length, in APA (American Psychological Association) format.  Shorter or longer articles may be accepted if deemed to be in high quality. 

Submission deadline:

Papers submitted by October 15, 2016 will be considered for the publication in the first issue (December 2016). Late submissions will be considered for the following issues.

How to submit your manuscripts:

IJOL uses Open Journal System by Public Knowledge Project. The LOCKSS Program or CLOCKSS Archive will be adopted to ensure permanent access and preservation of all papers published in the IJOL at any events. Simply visit http://ojs.calaijol.org/index.php/ijol/about/submissions to login and submit your manuscripts online.  Please read the Author Guidelines before submission. Journal of Web Librarianship - Call for Papers

The Journal of Web Librarianship is planning a special issue on Internet discovery on digital collections entitled: Digital Collection Metadata & Internet Discovery.

Subject Coverage

This special issue offers a platform for researchers to discuss topics relevant to the potential combination of best strategies regarding metadata, digital repositories, digital formats, search engine indexing, and Internet discovery. Subject coverage includes but is not limited to Digital Collection Metadata Evaluation, Digital Repository Systems Evaluation, Digital Collection Development, Indexing Evaluation of Digital Formats, Search Engine Indexing, Search Engine Algorithm Evaluation, and Internet Discovery on Digital Repositories.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Original Research
  2. Evaluation of metadata of digital collections
  3. Evaluation of digital repository system pertaining to facilitating content discoverability
  4. Evaluation of search engine indexing on metadata or digital file formats
  5. Evaluation of search engine algorithm and/or search engine optimization
  6. Case Studies
  7. Best strategies for facilitating Internet discovery of digital collections
  8. Best practices for developing and promoting digital collections on the Internet
  9. Workflows for optimizing digital collection and metadata development

Manuscript preparation requirements can be found on the Journal of Web Librarianship Author Guidelines site. All submissions will be refereed by at least two reviewers. The Journal of Web Librarianship receives all manuscript submissions electronically via its ScholarOne Manuscripts site located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/JWebLib.
